Fantastic Raw Bar. Great atmosphere. About a 10-minute walk from the house. Garlic lovers will love the shrimp scampi.

Midtown

345 Thames Street - 0.80 miles away - 401-619-4100

The Mooring

1 Sayers Wharf - 1.0 mile away - (401) 846-2260

Ask to sit on the porch area for a great view of the boats in the harbor. If you schedule your reservation (recommended) around sunset, you can have quite the scenic meal. If you’re adventurous and just come in sans reservation, you can try the back bar. Jockeying for the next seat is somewhat of a secret game at The Mooring. Pro tip. The subtle box out works.

Fluke

41 Bowen's Wharf, Newport RI 02840 (401) 849-7778

Top-notch service. Delicious seafood dishes

The Black Pearl

Bannister's Wharf, Newport RI 02840 (401) 846-5264

The mussels in garlic and white wine are absolutely amazing. Make sure to ask for extra bread to soak up the broth. Award winning clam chowder as well. Note, you have to site inside to get the mussels. The outdoor patio has a different menu

Benjamin's Raw Bar

254 Thames Street, Newport RI 02840

(401) 846-8757

There is an upstairs that has sit down traditional dining. The downstairs has a fantastic raw bar with limited seating. If you happen to be here on a Tuesday they have Happy Hour prices for $1.00 per oyster and $1.50 for jumbo shrimp.
